Best Friends Part 2!

I got this picture of the two friends just a few minutes after I posted the pictures.

Chloe just loves Gracie and it appears that Gracie loves her back just as much!

Chloe was sick when I brought her home from the kennel, can you tell?

Her left ear canal was swollen shut (she cried when you touched it) and her nose was so stuffy she had to breathe from her mouth. It was pitiful.

Chloe has finally decided to figure out what Gracie really is....

I had a feeling....

I had a feeling that Chloe was a cat in a past life... here is one simliarity between Chloe and Gracie...

... They both like the top of the couch.... they are both always up there! (but not at the same time)

There is a new member of my little family and her name is Gracie!

Gracie was found on the side of the road, brought into my animal hospital by a nice woman, and treated for minor head trauma. She had a bloody nose but was still as cute as could be. I knew right away I wanted her and after a night in the hospital, she was ready to come home and meet the crew!

While Chloe is very unsure about this new creature (she has never met a cat before), Charlie was very excited and it looks like they are going to be good friends.

Dog Park

Charlie and Chloe are so happy with the new dog park in their backyard. Charlie showed me how happy he was by waking me up at 3am the first night it was up b/c he wanted to go play in it. Charlie loves to be chased and Chloe loves to be the one to do the chasing.

Charlie loves being outside and would stay out there for hours if I let him. He is quite content to just lay down and he always seems to find some shade in reach, regardless of how little there is.

I am putting this picture on for my mom to see. This dog dish holder use to belong to our shih tzu, Keebler, who after many happy years went to doggie heaven this past summer. My mom gave it to me for Chloe and with her permission, I painted the wood and created what you see below.

While the final outcome was not exactly what I had in mind (the stenciling would not work), I still think it is better than anything I could have bought!

Mighty Mites!

Here is a picture of Charlie from today. If you click on it, you can view it as a bigger picture and then see what the skin mites have done to his fur. While it doesn't seem to bother him much, except for the occasional itch, it bothers me a lot. The medication he was on for a month didn't work at all (and was making him goofy), so now he is getting bathed with a special shampoo once a week and gets a special cream put on the "bald" spots every night (it doesn't seem to be helping much either).

He has a follow up visit in two weeks and I have a feeling we are going to have to try the next treatment, special "dips". There is also the possibility that he will have this condition the rest of his life and will be something we will just have to deal with.
